MASSTWIN supported the organization of this year's MS Food DAY, organized by the Mass Spectrometry section of the Italian Chemical Society. Anja Mahne Opatić, the ISO-FOOD fellow, received the Best Poster Award among 73 poster presentations, with her contribution "A preliminary traceability model for tomato using analysis of stable isotopes, elemental content and chemical markers". The ERA Chair Iso-Food Summer School addressed the speciation of trace and toxic elements in food by providing participants with an in-depth knowledge of trace element speciation using examples of essential and non-essential elements including Cr, Zn, Ni, Hg and As to teach demonstrate the state-of-the art analytical approaches.
Workshop on "Molecular tools for food traceability, quality and safety" discusses the possiblities for collaboration in food authenticity and traceability, alternative food, food reuse and application of nanotechnologies in food science.
ERA Chair ISO-FOOD invites national stakeholders on September 25-27, 2017, to the summer school on trace element speciation. The working language of the school will be Slovene.
MASSTWIN project and ERA Chair ISO-FOOD organised the Workshop od good risk management requirements, trust and label claims & best practices. It was held in the framework of the Food Integrity Conference in Parma, Italy, on May 10-12, 2017.
The satellite event was co-organized by projects MASSTWIN and ISO-FOOD- Its aim was to highlight the recent advances in instrumentation and its application in the environment, food and health related research, and by doing so, to explore the opportunities and challenges ahead.
A half-day training workshop for stakeholders on application of stable isotopes for determination of origin and authenticity of food was organised for the experts from the Adminstration of Republic of Slovenia for food safety, veterinary and plant protection.
The ISOSCAPE Summer School will take place at Campus San Michele all'Adige and is targeted to to PhD students and postdoctoral researchers interested in learning more about the theoretical and technical aspects of assembling and working with large, spatially distributed stable isotope ratios datasets. The course will stress the integration of isotopes with other data types and methods within a geospatial framework. Read more...
